Avenida 9 de Julio is probably the urban feature of Buenos Aires. It was created in the 1930s when an entire line of blocks was demolished to create the 100m+ wide avenue. Just crossing the avenue takes 2 or 3 cycles. Both the northern and southern ends turn into freeways and drivers on the avenue don't like stopping. I took this pic from the balcony of a building on Carlos Pellegrini.
