I'm fascinated by Chalet-style houses. They vaguely recall the Tudor-style architecture of Mar Del Plata and the English influenced estancia houses on the Pampa but they've long since evolved into their own creature--some architectural platypus that's evolved on it's own way down here in the Southern Cone. Here's a longer set on my personal website and a flickr set with even more Chalets.

At least the platypus stays out of view. These chalet things are one ugly platypus!
Actually, these houses are all over the city. I never paid attention to them and once I started I see them everywhere I go. It's the dominant style in rich neighborhoods and I've even seen attempts at pitched roofs and gables in villas.
Tom; what's the English for "adefesio"?
