I like Palo Borrachos when their trunks are green and spiky. I also liked the contrast of the green against the red brick.

Yes, a nice contrast in colours. My eye is also drawn to the the grey stubbles on the tree trunk. To someone not living in Buenos Aires they seem so unexpected.

The palo borracho or silk floss tree is native to northern Argentina. I was recently in LA for a couple of weeks and they're all over the place, used as landscaping. Despite having grown up in California, I only noticed them on this trip.
