There are big differences in the quality of trains on different lines. The trains that run to Tigre are quite nice with air conditioned cars, altho they're starting to show their age. This train is also on the Mitre line but goes to JL Suarez and uses older, non-airconditioned cars. Even this train was in much better shape than the cars on the Roca line out to La Plata, a ride I would not recommend.

Good pics but as a regular visitor for month/two months every year since 2000 i'd says Mitre line stock to Suarez is now generally improved and better than this, including air conditioned units. RE: other comment I'd have to say I enjoyed the Constitution - La Plata line but would concede most adventurous to go unaccompanied on Linea Amarillo into Estacion. P Buenos Aires.
True! The new cars are quite nice. It's good to see they're putting them on the line where it's needed. Ditto for Linea San Martin. Obviously, this was one of the older units.
Yeah the Linea Belgrano Sur which leaves from Estacion Buenos Aires is a bit scary. I took it once last summer. After passing thru several Villas we came to Villa Lugano, but the nice part of the barrio. I saw a bus line that would take me back home so I bailed. I was curious to see where the train ended up but I was alone and really stood out.
