I was in the microcentro this Tuesday afternoon during the Argentina vs. Greece game, which Argentina won. I had heard that things shut down but to experience it was uncanny. The streets were quiet [until two goals were scored late in the game]. Here's a few snapshots during the game:

Lots of street vendors selling Argentine paraphernalia

Garbarino employees line up to watch the game

Messi!

Maradona!

You can always count on Susana Gimenez for a good Gente cover

The lab where I get my film processed,
Buenos Aires Color, set up chairs in the lobby so all their employees could watch the game. The only other customers who came in during the hour I was there was an American couple. Go figure.
Oh yeah, and I just got back from a 10 day trip to
Bogota, Colombia. Great city, here's some
pictures on flickr that I took.
